Seri...Kate- yes that's exactly how it went too. Seriously I did buy some stuff (facial moisturizer and lip balm)Cause as you've mentioned their products are good and they totally are but for real? and my sister who had the party called me last night "Oh I just left Trish's house (Mary Kay lady)and she wanted to know if you like your product." no she doesn't she wants to know when I am going to have a party, you know how I know that she's been calling me she called friday and sunday. GRR HUMBUG!
Oh and the "if you had an disposable income which product or line would you buy" yeah because all of us are so lucky to have a disposable income. I'd totally buy the entire line of facial creams and washes and the microderm thingy but guess what that's $200.00 and I really don't need to spend that kind of money on face wash and moisturizer when as you have said you can't get something that's comparable at wal-mart.

Adam- I some how suspected that Shelly was still and Mary Kay consultant but I couldn't remember, I did almost feel like I was betraying her. Not that I've ever bought from her but that she's my friend and I should be supporting her not some random woman cause my sister says how awesome she is.

Carrie- You're right I do feel guilty not buying anything (hence the facial moisturizer and lip balm) but at the same time Karen was the one having the party, so it was sort of a guilt thing to go in the first place. She's my sister, I don't get to see her that often, it might (I emphsize the word might) be a good bonding thing (or something.) But no it ends up being several hours of us sitting around a table with the cheesy little makeup mirrors (like the MGP ones they used to have) and so little makeup that you can only really sufficentally cover your forehead (maybe.) And when we had to go around the table telling each person what we liked about their new look... Seriously? I felt like saying "well that little spot on your forehead that you could cover looks really good" I'm laughing just thinking about it.

Whatever I've ranted it makes me crazy that I am such a sucker.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04846650011553535015noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3601733259103009182.post-5652135531936261352009-08-12T18:25:28.547-07:002009-08-12T18:25:28.547-07:00They are, and it sucks because you know they are j...They are, and it sucks because you know they are just trying to make a living. Then when you don't buy anything because you weren't really looking for new stuff since all your old stuff is sitting unused and forlorn, then you feel guilty that you just wasted their time and yours... or maybe that is just me. :)Shawnee's Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00388093512717825161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3601733259103009182.post-87267982975777806822009-08-12T16:49:30.061-07:002009-08-12T16:49:30.061-07:00mary kay, pampered chef, tupperware, party lite, a...mary kay, pampered chef, tupperware, party lite, avon.....they are all based on the horrible model, AMWAY. great. pyramid schemes, and all that noise. Shelly does mary kay. yeah, that's what I said tooAdanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10766345537657026524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3601733259103009182.post-22812305659705057622009-08-12T12:32:33.494-07:002009-08-12T12:32:33.494-07:00Ugh, I hear you. A couple of my good friends are M...Ugh, I hear you. A couple of my good friends are Mary Kay consultants, so I'm on the e-mail blast list too. Don't ever give them your e-mail, let me tell you.

Their products are good, and I've been to several shows (I know what you mean about being tricked!) but I hate the attitude of:

"No pressure, but why wouldn't do a party? Are you crazy? No pressure, the products sell themselves--you get three tubes of lotion for the bargain price of $99.99! I mean, no pressure, but why wouldn't you want to spend 100 bucks on something you could get at Wal-Mart for $1.97? (LOOK INTO MY EYES--YOU ARE GROWING SLEEPY--YOU WILL SAY YES TO EVERYTHING I ASK AND NOT REMEMBER THIS--WOOOH) I don't want you to feel pressured, remember you should do whatever is right for you. But just so you know, all the other girls said yes. There's no pressure, but if you don't buy something or agree to do a party then you're the only party pooper."

Or something like that.

WOOOH!Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02711252819383710895noreply@blogger.com
